Friday Post 5

So this week I have been learning about alcohol, drugs, there effects, and how teens shouldn't be doing either of them.In the drugs area I learned about date rape drugs and how they are often tasteless and colorless and how they can cause you to pass out and black out. I also learn about different types of drugs and how they can act as stimulants like nicotine and caffeine which make you feel more awake and energized but cause effects like rapid heart rate, increased blood pressure and high body temperatures, where as there are also drugs that can distort your senses and perceptions and make you hallucinate called hallucinogens. In the area of alcohol I learn about how to find out how much I should drink, ways to stay safe while drinking and the reasons why teenagers shouldn't drink. To elaborate, ways to find out how much alcohol are as follows, you can check on the bottle or cans label and that will tell you, you can ask the bar tender what they put in your drink, or you can make the drink your self, most of those strategies will tell you. Some things that can be dangerous while drinking are drinking things from punch bolls because there could be anything in there so its a general bad idea, leaving your drink un-attended because any one could slip a drug into it, and just drinking to much and not making good decisions can be life ruining. I learned that drinking before the age of 21 is dangerous because your brain hasn't fully developed and drinking at this time can severely stunt your brains growth as well as leave you vulnerable to future addictions. So that is what I learned this past week.

also the definition of existentialism is...
a philosophical attitude associated especially with Heidegger, Jaspers,Marcel, and Sartre, and opposed to rationalism and empiricism, that stresses the individual's unique position as a self-determining agent responsible for the authenticity of his or her choices.

It doesn't really affect me

Game Journal #2

Okay so one of the things I did right was I made a fire when night time came, it kept me from freezing but since I didn't have enough wood I had to use it only at the coldest moments.

I've discovered this thing called a fiber bush and while they're a little bit hard to find  they have a lot of use in building bases.

One of the things I did wrong was under estimating animals, the rabbits and chickens are super fast and hard to catch and the bears and wolves are hard to kill and can walk up 90 degree walls so hiding on rocks is totally ineffective.

Loot bags are super useful but most of the time are surrounded by animals, and there are these loot boxes that you need a lock pick to open.

Here is my opinion of this game so far. It's not my type of game, I'm more of a strategy gamer and I don't like survival games much. Its to thrilling for me, but if you like thrill its a game I would definitely recommend. This game has a beautiful design and is extremely engaging. So that's my thoughts so far.

Game Journal #1

what are a persons most essential needs?

food.
clean water.
warmth.
shelter
     a bed.
something to defend your self with
     knife
     gun
     bat.

what is the definition of subsistence?
it is ... sustaining ones self at the minimum level.

            Description
The game I will be playing is an early access, sand box, first person, open world survival, single player(may change later)game called subsistence. Subsistence is a game where you have to struggle to survive in a hostile environment, by building bases and securing gear to use. All while defending your self from wild animals and AI hunters that also build bases in the area.

It is currently the only game that has been made by the publisher and developer Coldgames, who I couldn't find out much about but I did find their Youtube and Twitter pages which are linked below

Youtube
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkQZ7vkTiqetTC0_8umY2Pg

Twitter
https://twitter.com/playSubsistence

Subsistence is comparable to 7 days to die
to which how you have to build bases and fight others is simular but with 7 days to die you have time to prepare before the zombies hit but with this game your instantly in danger as far as i can tell
